Quizbowl

 

Do you love watching Jeopardy!? Are you smarter than a 5th grader? Did you know the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we are the club for you! We are the official Quiz Bowl Club at the University of Arkansas. As a student-run RSO, we meet weekly to play practice games and go over club announcements. Throughout the year, we plan on attending several online and in-person intercollegiate tournaments. Whether you have years of experience or are new to quiz bowl, join us for competitive trivia fun!

Volunteer Action Center (VAC)

The Volunteer Action Center (VAC) is the student-led division of the Center for Community Engagement that connects students at the University of Arkansas to service opportunities on and off campus. The VAC seeks to foster a positive relationship between students and the Northwest Arkansas community through the VAC membership program and its six signature programs; Be BOLD, Dream BIG, the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry, the PAL Program, Razorback Food Recovery, and Student Engagement. All University of Arkansas students can become VAC members by logging 10 service hours in an academic year. VAC members receive perks like free food, pins, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and prestigious service awards! Members also have access to professional development and community-building events. Join the VAC to give back to your community, gain volunteer experience, and be awarded for your hard work!

The Playground

The Playground is a stage script development group for all levels of experience! The club will meet two times a week every other week to workshop plays and receive constructive feedback! The club will put a number of these plays on display as a staged reading on an official University stage at the end of each semester! Even if writing isn’t your speed, plays need readers!

Entrepreneurship & Innovation

The Office of Entrepreneurship & Innovation provides business incubation, experiential learning opportunities, and community for students, faculty, and people in Arkansas who want to be innovators inside existing organizations, solve meaningful problems, or build new ventures.

U Plan with UP (University Programs)

University Programs (UP) is a student led programming board that plans over 100 free events for students to attend each school year. This Pick One group will learn about how to get involved help plan a university event!

Cardinal Taekwondo

Cardinal Taekwondo is a growing, student-run RSO on campus which focuses on teaching traditional and competitive Taekwondo to students of ALL experience levels. Club members will have the opportunity to participate in traditional Belt Tests and Olympic style competition. We follow Kukkiwon and World Taekwondo Federation curriculums and participate in events hosted by the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association, the Mountain Collegiate Taekwondo Conference, and USA Taekwondo. We typically host 4+ practices each week, which include basic techniques, form patterns, sparring, board breaking, conditioning training, and social events. We’re looking forward to continuing to grow our club and community and to putting on some fun events in the fall. Everyone is welcome, so come kick with us!

The Safe Zone Allies Student Network

The Safe Zone Allies Student Network welcomes students of all sexuality and/or gender identities who are interested in and committed to addressing issues and topics of importance to the LGBTQIA+ community. Students in the network meet weekly to learn about and discuss LGBTQ+ history, gender and sexual identities, community cultures and norms, the laws and policies that affect the LGBTQIA+ community, heteronormativity and oppression, and more!

Speech and Debate Society

We are the University of Arkansas Speech and Debate Society! Ranked fourth in the country and the number one debate program in the state of Arkansas, we are all about education and having fun, while also getting experience traveling to forensics and debate events. ANY EXPERIENCE LEVEL IS WELCOMED! If you have no experience or tons of experience, we want you just the same!

Razor-Book Club

Razorbook Club is a student-led RSO with a passion for all things bookish! We believe that books are meant to be read and shared in a safe and accepting environment where everyone is welcome, and that we can foster a sense of community on campus by discussing books that represent and reflect the world around us. Come find a community of people who all indulge in the same past-time!

Global Learning Hub

The Global Learning Hub is a collaboration between Housing’s Global Series, the offices of International Students and Scholars, and Study Abroad . We are committed to connecting students globally through programs that provide meaningful experiences that promote a sense of belonging.

There will be various opportunities to learn about different cultures, celebrations, traditions, and of course food! Meet international students from around the world at programs like Global Series, International Culture Team meetings, Plaza de las Americas, and International Education Week. Also, learn about opportunities to study abroad through Hogs Abroad sessions. Come explore the world with us!

Student Media

There are six outlets of Student Media for you to get involved in the moment you step on campus: The Arkansas Traveler (newspaper), UATV (newstation), KXUA (radio station), Main Hill Media (student-run advertising agency), The Razorback Yearbook and Hill Magazine.

Build your resume and get real world experience. No experience is required. There are volunteer and paid positions available. Learn how to be a reporter, photographer, news anchor, designer, technical director — all in a state-of-art newsroom located in the center of campus.

        

Razorback Booster Club

The Razorback Booster Club is in partnership with Razorback Athletics in the commitment to continuing the esteemed Razorback Pep Rallies as a standing tradition that brings unity and pride to our campus and our past, present, and future Razorbacks.

Chemistry Club

The Chemistry Club is a research focused club to help you meet, work, and research with faculty members. Our goal is to give you the opportunity to pursue research at a high level and support your research journey.

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a student leadership organization dedicated to fostering community at the University of Arkansas through service and recognition. As a part of this Pick One, you will have the opportunity to volunteer and get involved with NRHH’s service project during your first week on campus. Throughout the semester, you can stay involved with NRHH, all leading up to your induction as an official member of National Residence Hall Honorary! If you are hoping to get involved starting the day you move-in, then this is the opportunity for you! We hope you will join us!

Office for Sustainability (OFS)

Are you someone who values nature and is interested in conserving our environment for generations to come? The Office for Sustainability at the University of Arkansas aims to develop sustainable practices on campus through partnerships with students, faculty, and staff. The OFS focuses on innovation in energy efficiency, active transportation, campus biodiversity, waste reduction, and water conservation.

Work alongside our team to advocate for sustainable change through different initiatives and projects on campus. One example is our weekly work sessions to remove litter and invasive plants while establishing native plants along the U of A trail system. This restoration effort creates habitat for wildlife while beautifying our campus landscape

     

RIOT Robotics

RIOT Robotics is the premier robotics organization on campus! Our focus is on giving students the resources and experience necessary to complete any robotics project they set their mind to. We have sent students to places like Norwalk, Connecticut and Denver, Colorado to compete in robotics competitions. Anyone can join RIOT, and everyone will find it to be one of the most transformational experiences on campus. Inexperienced students will learn how to apply engineering skills to robotics problems, and advanced students will have access to resources to complete their own robotics projects.

     

 

The Movement Dance Company

Looking for a way to continuing expressing your love for dance at the University of Arkansas? Get involved with the Movement! The Movement Dance Company offers both the opportunity to audition for the company, but also opens dance to campus by hosting weekly dance classes in a wide variety of styles.

Multicultural Center (MC)

The Multicultural Center (MC) is an intersectional community of diverse identities and experiences and a space for cultural celebration, identity exploration, support, affinity, and allyship. We are a place to Belong, Become, and Be you!

Cyberhogs Cybersecurity Club

Are you a curious individual that loves to learn and tackle intricate problems? Do you enjoy learning about multiple disciplines and how they work together? Are you looking to jump into a fast paced and growing field?
Join CyberHogs, the official cybersecurity RSO at the University of Arkansas! Discover what it means to study, work, research, and compete in a booming field! CyberHogs is a community of students, alumni, and professionals dedicated to cybersecurity outreach and development.
There is something for everyone in CyberHogs, whether you are coming to one of our ethical hacking workshops to learn how to exploit and patch vulnerabilities, attending a speaking event with one of our industry connections, competing in our annual Capture-the-Flag competition RazorHack, or learning about internships and scholarships for students studying cybersecurity. We welcome students from all disciplines, technical or not, because cybersecurity applies to everyone!
There is no experience required to join CyberHogs; we will give you the resources and exposure needed to get started! We send teams every semester to compete in Capture-the-Flag competitions like Jolt in Little Rock and CyberForce in Chicago; additionally, we also host our own competition, RazorHack, hosted in November each year. Join us, and you’ll have the skills to compete!
Student Organization Outreach & Involvement Experience (SOOIE)

Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience (SOOIE) is an organization that helps students get involved by matching their passions and interests to Registered Student Organizations (RSO’s) on campus.

   

Razorback Game Devs

Razorback Game Devs primary goal is to create a space for students interested in game development to learn more about the field. Our aim is to cultivate a diverse community through game development events to build skills, social networking to get to know people in the industry, and social gatherings to make new friends.

Associated Student Government (ASG)

The Associated Student Government (ASG) supports a number of campus programs and initiatives while allocating over $290,000 to Registered Student Organizations each year. The Associated Student Government is split into five branches: Executive, Legislative, Judicial, Office of Financial Affairs (OFA), and the Freshman Leadership Forum (FLF). The five branches work together to strive for the betterment of the organization and the University of Arkansas as a whole.

University Recreation (UREC)

Whether you’re looking for a place to exercise, a space to build friendships and connections, or an on-campus job, UREC is the place for you! University Recreation (UREC) is the campus provider for fitness, sports, recreation, wellness, and fun! Get active with intramural sports, outdoor adventures, group fitness, and a wide variety of informal recreational and wellness opportunities.

     

Film Appreciation Forum

The Film Appreciation Forum is a safe, welcoming space for students to build relationships centered around our common passion for cinema. Informal meetings occur weekly around various topics surrounding the film industry.

Substance Prevention, Education & Outreach

Do you have a friend or family member that has struggled with drugs or alcohol, or have you lost someone to an overdose? Are you interested in leadership and outreach? Do you want to pursue a career in social sciences, healthcare, the medical field, or helping relationships?
If any of these apply to you, come join our student organization group!! We want individuals who are passionate about helping destigmatize addiction and recovery by providing education, outreach, and community. Our vision focuses on fostering leadership and skill development pertaining to the field of Substance Use and recovery. We are a community and a space to learn and help others

Razorback Recovery hosts meetings twice a week, monthly social activities, mentorship, offer scholarship opportunities, peer support, and a safe environment in which to study and relax.
